Abstract
358,240. Dynamo-electric machines. KILNER, W. N., 53, Mossgrove Road, Timperley, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 17, 1930, No. 27787. [Class 35.] Armatures, cooling cores.-In a stator core, the teeth have radial slots 8, Fig. 3, which may have enlargements 9 beyond the winding slots 6 and which communicate, in the assembled core, with annular radial ducts 19 which are distributed axially along the core. The core sections between each duct 19 are composed of laminµ 5 with strengthening ribs 13 spaced back slightly from the tooth tip, together with laminµ 4 which have their teeth tips arranged so that air may pass round the tooth ribs 13 of the laminµ 5. The axially disposed gaps 19 mav be formed by stampings of which the radial dimension is such that they extend only to the enlargements 9 of the other laminµ, or by a series of hairpin-shaped members. These spacers may be of magnetic, non-magnetic, or insulating material.
