In a device which is interposed in the operating chain &c. of the cistern for disinfecting the air in lavatories, the disinfectant receptacle 1, Fig. 1, and the pump member 2 are connected by means of a bayonet-joint 4, 5. An aperture fitted with a plug 6 is provided in a closure member 3 secured to the receptacle 1 which is also fitted with a drip-catching lip 1b beneath the air pipe 7. In another form, an external channel 16, Fig. 2, having a cushion ring 15 is provided on the receptacle 1 to accommodate the pump barrel 2.
