[Class 144 (ii).] The edges of a cover of woven material are connected by a circumferential strip of unwoven threads d<3> to form a structure tubular in cross section. The threads may be separated to allow the inner tube to be removed for repair. A flap or flaps h may cover the threads. The strip may have woven portions at its edges, sewn to the edges of the cover ; or the edges of the cover may house wires g round which the threads d<3> may be wound. In the latter case, the cover may be built up by winding a strip of fabric helically to form a cover b<2> of double thickness. The strip of unwoven threads may be formed by winding a thread circumferentially on a rotatable mandrel supporting two cords extending along opposite parts of the mandrel, the thread being held in place on the cords by adhesive.
