[Class 122 (i).] A split ring a is formed with a groove c, extending over three-quarters of the circumference of its inner periphery, to accommodate a wire spring d. The groove is arranged symmetrically relatively to the slit b, whereby a uniform pressure is exerted throughout the circumference of the ring, and may be of trapezoidal cross section.
