Abstract

357,899. Trees for boots, socks, &c. WATSON, F. G., Coventry Street, Southam, Warwickshire. Feb. 12, 1931, No. 151. [Classes 17 (ii) and 141.] A device for drying, airing, or warming and keeping to shape a boot, shoe, sock, or stocking comprises a rigid hollow forepart 2 adapted to fit the article and to contain a heating medium, or to be otherwise heated, and having a hairpin-type spring 8 secured at 7 to its rear part to press the device into the article. As shown, the device is provided with a filling aperture 4 and cap 5, and with a plate 10 to engage the heel. A screw washer 12 on a stud 11 may be used to compress the spring 8 to facilitate withdrawal of the device.
