Addition to 334,735, [Class 100 (ii), Printing processes &c,[Class 100 (ii).] The machine for stamping eggs &c. described in the parent Specification is modified by providing mechanism for effecting relative lateral or rocking movement between the eggs and the stamps during the stamping operation so that the stamps may follow the shape of the eggs and produce better impressions; the means for supporting the stamps may be modified also. As shown, the rows of eggs 3 are arranged in a tray 2 supported on a table 1 adapted to be raised and lowered by levers 6 actuated by means of a hand-lever 5, or by a treadle, or by power. The table 1 is supported on rails 14 through the intermediary of grooved memoers 15 adapted to allow movement of the table in two directions at right-angles in a horizontal plane. A crank 7 engaging a fork 12 fixed to the underside of the table 1 at the front end thereof is rotatable by means of a handle 9 and drives, through bevel gears 10, 11 having a 2: 1 ratio, a crank engaging a fork at one side of the table, whereby the table is provided with two movements at right-angles resembling a figure eight; the cranks may be arranged to impart lifting movements also to the table. The stamps 4 are attached to the plungers 151 by means of springs 17 so as to adapt themselves to the shape of the eggs, and springs 16 are provided on the plungers to allow vertical movement thereof in accordance with the size of the eggs.
