Jan. 14, 1931, No. 1276 [Class 89 (ii).] The eye 5 of a hook particularly, but not solely, applicable to boat-lowering gear, is pivoted at 4 and normally held against the load by a collar 8 rotatable on the shank 2 and shaped so as to engage the tail 10 of the eye. By rotating the collar the eye is released and is pulled open by the load.
