Abstract

355,903. Wall lamps. SOLOMON, M. and WINSTANLEY, F., Magnet House, Kingsway, London. July 19, 1930, No. 21902. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv).] Shades and shade holders.- In illuminating fittings comprising a back member 4 adapted to tie against the wall and glass plates or panels 3 extending forwardly from about the edges of the back member and meeting a front glass member 1 generally inclined upwardly and outwardly, the panels being held in position by means including a frame extending forwardly from the back, each panel is adjustably connected to the frame by a screw device attached to the panel and adapted to engage the frame. As shown, Fig. 3, the frame is held in eyes 6 pressed out of a back member 4 of sheet metal. The glass panels are supported by a small shelf and attached to the frame by screw devices each comprising an eye 7 adapted to engage the frame and having its shank adjustably screwed into a hollow bolt 8 which is also screwed externally to receive a locking nut 9, Fig. 4. The panels may be moved inwardly or outwardly by turning the bolt 9 and then locked in position. A tongue 12 having a hole 13 for the fixing of an electric lamp socket or the like is pressed out of the back member. Supports for the glass panels may also be pressed out of the back member.
