Abstract

355,497. Stencil-printing apparatus. HORII, S., 3, Kajicho, Kanda-ku, Tokio, Aug. 13, 1930, No. 24293. [Class 100 (ii).] In a duplicator of the kind comprising a flat sheet-supporting bed 1 and a hinged stencil-carrying frame 4, the frame 4 is provided with trunnions 6 engaging in open slots 3 in brackets 2 secured to the bed 1 so that the frame is removable when in its raised position, and locking-plates 7 pivoted at 8 to the brackets 2 are adapted to embrace and hold the trunnions in an automatically-adjusted position of the trunnions when the frame 4 is in its closed position and to release the trunnions when the frame is lifted. As shown, each plate 7 is provided with a cam slot 9 engaging a trunnion 6, and as the frame 4 is swung down pins 10 thereon engage arms 11 projecting from the plates 7 and move the plates into locking position against the action of springs 12 ; the curvature of the slots 9 is such that the position of the trunnions is automatically adjusted in accordance with the height of the pile of sheets on the bed 1. In a modification, the pivots 8 are mounted in vertical slots and are pressed downwardly by springs whereby a wider range of adjustment of the plates 7 is provided; also, in this construction, the slots may be concentric with the pivot 8 instead of cam-shaped.
