1378952 Registering in multi-colour printing Y INOUE 25 Feb 1972 [4 March 1971 10 May 1971] 8885/72 Heading G2A A device for setting half tone negatives on film sheets for preparing polychrome printing plates comprises a structure across which a motor-driven frame 26 travels on rails and an arm movable parallel to and below the frame on rails 38 carrying a series of vertical shafts 64 each of which has a box 70 on which a pair of links 71 are pivotable via lever 86, to cause horizontal movement of a plate 77 having pins 78 thereon. The plate 77 moves over a part of structure 79 having a transparent plate 81 supported therebelow and illuminated by lamp 90. Structure 79 has pins 91 on its upper side and a handle 92 mounted on the sidewall thereof in an elongated aperture 94. The handle rotates a cam 93 to elevate member 96 against the force of springs (97) Fig.9 (not shown). A clip 99 for film sheet is attached to the member 96. In operation a film sheet is placed on plate 81 adjacent each handle 92 so that a film sheet having a marginal hole may be placed over pin 91 and be held by clip 99. The appropriate half tone negative is then set on the film sheet by fitting pins 78 through marginal holes in the negative and sliding it over the film sheet by movement of the box 70, arm 31 and the frame 26 through a lever (101), Fig.10 (not shown) which actuates switches (108-111) and (106, 107) of the motors.
