Abstract
355,163. Road vehicle suspension systems. DUBONNET, A., 114, Boulevard Maurice BarrÞs, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Jan. 1, 1931, No. 134. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1930. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii).] In a vehicle suspension device of the type comprising a shaft b adapted to pivot in a casing a and carrying inside the casing one or more arms c which engage resilient means such as springs e, the shaft and casing being secured respectively to the vehicle frame and to a lever d carrying one of the vehicle wheels or vice versa, the effective lengths of the arms c are arranged so that the flexibility of the suspension remains almost constant but is diminished after the load exceeds a certain value. In one form, Fig. 2, the profile of the arms c consists of two juxtaposed curves c<1>, c<2> such that its point, line, or surface of contact with a hollow piston f reacting on the spring e follows the curve B, C, &c. The curve c<1> may take the form of a circumference of small diameter.
