354,627. Drawing-rollers for preparing and spinning machines. ROURA, L. V. and GUDAYOL, C. S., 51, Gerona, Barcelona, Spain. Oct. 24, 1930, No. 31982. Convention date, Aug. 16. [Class 120 (ii).] In high draft apparatus one or more of the lower rollers are formed of a metal core covered with rubber or rubber composition, the upper rollers being of ordinary construction or all or some of them covered similarly to the lower rollers. As shown, all the rollers are covered, pressure being applied to the front roller through a stirrup 15, and to the middle and back rollers by a saddle 16 and bar 17 from a weight 20. The rubber cover may be applied in any of the usual methods, for example, a layer of crude rubber paste may be applied and vulcanized or tubes of vulcanized rubber may be applied to the core ; in any case the ends are varnished to prevent penetration of oil between the cover and the core. The usual clearing- rollers 8, 9 are used.
