Abstract
<PICT:0353747/IV/1> <PICT:0353747/IV/2> <PICT:0353747/IV/3> Artificial silk, particularly viscose silk, spu on bobbins is washed and, if desired, desulphurized, bleached, acidified, soaped, oiled, and otherwise after-treated with liquids, and the bobbin laps are then removed from the bobbins and dried in a condition which allows unrestrained shrinkage. The bobbin lap may be produced upon a conical bobbin which can afterwards be withdrawn from the thread coils, or bobbins having adjustable diameters may be employed. The bobbins may comprise a plurality of parts which may be caused to collapse or slide together so as to effect a diminution of the periphery. They may be constructed of sheet material cut along a generating line so that they may be compressed spirally for enabling the bobbin lap to be removed. Removal of the thread coils from conical bobbins may be assisted by the application of a lubricant such as soap. After the bobbin lap has been dried it may be brought with or without twisting into the form of a bobbin, cheese, bottle-bobbin, canette, cop, hank, or other desired form. It may be unwound from the outside or inside as desired. As shown in Fig. 1, the lap a is mounted upon a holding core i upon which a spinning plate m is then secured. The core i rests on the spindle l and is driven by means of a belt k. The thread is unwound from the revolving lap a and supplied with twisting to a conical bobbin n. In Fig. 2, the lap a is placed in a sleeve o mounted on the spindle l, and the thread is drawn off the edge of a cover p which serves as a spinning plate. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the feature of removing the bobbin laps from the bobbins and then subjecting them to the wet treatments. As shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled), the laps a wrapped in permeable material b are mounted upon a perforated tube c inserted in the bottom g of a treatment trough. The individual laps are separated by rubber rings d, and the whole series is held in position by a cover e secured by a key f. The treatment liquids are passed through the thread layers either outwardly or inwardly by means of suction or pressure. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
