353,030. L o u d - s p e a k e r s ; d i a - phragms. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Smythe, E. H. ; Evanston, Illinois, U.S.A.) April 16, 1930, No. 19317/31. Divided on 353,016. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iv).] An acoustic device, such as a loud-speaker, comprising a flat tensioned diaphragm of sufficiently large size to act as a directly acting sound radiator and actuated by means attached directly thereto, has the diaphragm provided with regions of special extensibility, preferably in the form of transverse corrugations, for tensioning it uniformly. The loud-speaker described and shown is of a similar construction to that described in Specification 290,239, [Class 40 (iv), Telephones &c.], the diaphragm being provided with transverse corrugations over its whole surface or at its end portions. Specification 353,016 also is referred to.
