352,873. Headers for heat exchangers. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC & MANUFACTURING CO., East Pittsburg, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Lidiak, J. P.; Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Nov. 25, 1930, No. 35472. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1929. [Class 64 (iii).] In a surface condenser in which the inlet water-box 13 is divided into two compartments 17, 18, supplied with cooling water by pumps 28, 29 respectively, a valve 37 is provided so that the two compartments may be supplied with watei by one pump only if necessary. The slide valve 37 is actuated by an external hand-wheel working a rack 39 through a pinion 41. Valves actuated by hand-wheels 34 are also provided to isolate the pumps.
