[Class 37.] An alternating current or voltage is measured by means of a moving-coil instrument 5 and a copper oxide rectifier 4, temperature errors being minimized by limiting the effective surface of the rectifier plates to 1À5 sq. cm. or less and keeping the current density between 2À5 and 29 milliamperes per sq. cm.
