Abstract
352,504. Brackets. ORTWEILER, S., 39, Gt. Arthur Street, Golden Lane, London. April 10, 1930, No. 11433. [Class 52 (v).] In arrangements wherein an umbrella, parasol, &c.. is adapted to be positively locked to a carrier, such as a handbag 2, and is capable of use only when dissociated therefrom, one element 5 of the looking device such as a press button, is permanently secured to, or forms part of, one extremity 4 of the umbrella, the other element 6 being secured to the carrier, as by a tab 7. The umbrella may be mounted between two brackets secured to a rigid support, for example, a motor-car; one bracket may carry a socket or ring wherein the umbrella ferrule is inserted, and the other carry part of the press button. This latter bracket may be hinged to the support and operate under the action of a spring mounted on the pivot pin of the hinge.
