Abstract
351,751. Cooling meat, fish, &c. DEUTSCHE WERKE KIEL AKT.-GES., 114, Werftstrasse, and SOMMER, P., 39, Lubecker-Chausee, Kiel, Germany. July 7, 1930, No. 20561. [Class 29.] Fish &c. to be frozen is packed into containers 11 adapted to be inserted in the compartments of a frame 12 rotated in a bath of cold circulating brine by the pressure of the brine on vanes 31 carried by the frame. In the case of a fishing-vessel, the fish is charged into bunkers 37, Fig. 8, from which it passes on to a removable shoot 25 and is charged into the containers which are removed from and replaced in the frame as it rotates in a step-by-step manner under the control of a pawl which engages with stops on the frame. After freezing, the fish is emptied from the containers on to a shoot 26 which directs it on to a perforated conveyer 41, Fig. 6, which passes through a water-spraying chamber 42 in which the frozen fish is rinsed and becomes coated with ice. After rinsing, the fish is discharged through shoots 45 into trucks 47. The brine is circulated through the bath by a pump 29. The bath and the bunkers are cooled by refrigerating coils.
