Abstract

351,263. Fire-extinguishers. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.-(Forman, B. S. ; 2212, 40th Avenue, Long Island City, New York, U.S.A.) July 2, 1930, No. 20080. [Class 47 (ii).] An automatic extinguisher comprises an elongated glass container 20 filled, for example, with carbon tetrachloride and supported at its ends by arms 13 on a holder 12 adapted to be secured to a wall or elsewhere. A hammer 22 adapted to strike and break the container intermediate its ends is carried by a spring 18 normally held inoperative, under tension, by a fusible rod 19 passed through ears 16 struck out from the holder 12. The container 20 may be removed from the holder and used as a grenade.
