Abstract

350,903. Ampoules and ampouleholders. KABNICK, S., 1410, Spruce Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A. March 10, 1930, No. 7782. Convention date, March 13, 1929. [Classes 81 (i) and 81 (ii).] In a double glass ampoule containing two substances tc be mixed only at the time of use, the first compartment 13, which is sealed by fusion to the upper rim of the second compartment 18, is formed with a sealed tubular stem 14 which is fused to the remote end of the second compartment and serves as the dividing partition between the two compartments. Scratches or incisions are made in the compartment 18 just below its upper rim, and in the stem 14 near its junction with the compartment 18 so that the two compartments may readily be broken apart and at the same time communication established between them. The upper tip 16 of the compartment 13 is broken after separation of the two compartments to allow the liquid in the compartment 13 to flow freely into the lower compartment. The lower part 18 may be placed in a recess 28 in a holder 26, Fig. 4, so that a syringe may readily be charged therefrom. The holder may have a number of recesses of various sizes.
