Abstract

350,382. Revolving-cylinder pumps. STOUTZ, R. DE, 43, Rue de la Republique, Niederbronn, Bas-Rhin, France. Feb. 7, 1930, No. 4219. [Class 102 (i).] In pumps of the type wherein the rotating cylinder block 2a is held in contact with the valve plate 5 by the pressure of the discharge fluid, the whole of the latter is delivered, through the port 7 and passages 20 .. 26 inside the pump, to a chamber 27 behind the cylinder block. A duct 30 in the pump casing connects this chamber with the outlet 31, in which an adjustable spring-loaded check valve may be arranged to maintain a constant discharge pressure. The cylinder block comprises three parts 2a, 2b, 2c driven by the shaft 2 and carrying pistons oscillated by a member 8 adjustable angularly by means of the bearing 11. The arms 8 engage spherical or cylindrical bearings 10 in abutments 4 coupled to the pistons. The semicircular suction and discharge ports 6, 7 are normally arranged in the cover 5, but the discharge port 7 may be arranged in the side wall of casing 1.
