[Class 98 (ii).] Films and papers; reversing.-Direct photographic positives are made by coating a translucent cellulose ester or celluloid film with a sensitive silver emulsion, exposing the film in a camera, developing the image, and reversing it by any of the known chemical reversal processes. Enlargements may be produced directly therefrom by projection on silver halide paper followed by development and reversal. The translucent film may be produced by mixing cellulose nit ate solution with a white, or slightly yellow or pink powder, such as barium sulphate, and casting a film therefrom in known manner. Reference is made in the Specification to a paper for producing direct positives by reversal, coated on both sides with an acid- and waterproof layer of celluloid.
