[Class 113 (ii).] A construction for connecting stiffening members where they are stopped at a bulkhead comprises a plate c passed beneath and across the boundary bars of the bulkhead d the ends of the plates running over the flange of the stiffener a to which the shell plating is attached by rivets e. Modifications are described in which the strip is wider and is attached directly to the shell plating bv an additional row of rivets and in this construction the strip may be joggled over the flange of the stiffener or a packing piece may be inserted between the strip and the shell plating. Specification 349,854 is referred to.
