Abstract

351,375. Lifeboats. COMMENTZ, C., 1, Gr÷ningerstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Nov. 18, 1930, No. 34704. [Classes 113 (i) and 113 (ii).] In order to take up blows or shocks caused by lowering operations, lifeboats are provided on one or both sides with outside transverse frames g, Fig. 5, extending outside the skin with which the frames are lined up by filling pieces i. In the way of these external frames, stout internal frames d are provided. Various modifications are described. In some additional fenders b are provided which are controlled by springs c or the additional members themselves may be springs. In a further modification springs or elastic elements m, Fig. 8, are inserted in the strong internal frames.
