[Class 81 (ii).] In foot-arch supports of the kind comprising a curved metal plate a, the forward end of which is protected by a detachable pad or plate b, the pad b is secured by studs e on the plate a projecting intc holes c, in the pad, of two diameters Nuts f, having notched edges for engagement by a turn-key, or spring washers, are secured to the studs and occupy the larger portions of the holes c. The pad b may be of leather, fabric, or other material and may be reinforced by metal plates d, having holes for the studs e and inserted between split layers of the material which are then again united by adhesive. Alternatively the studs e may carry washers in addition to the nuts f. Specification 268,414, [Class 81 (ii), Medical &c. appliances], is referred to.
