Abstract

345,706. Plant supports. LEE, F., Cressy Fields, Alfreton, Derbyshire. Jan. 9, 1930, No. 786. [Class 6 (ii).] A frame for supporting climbing plants comprises a lattice in the form of vertical and horizontal rods A, E, riveted together in such a manner that the lattice can be folded, or it can be rendered rigid by the use of a detachable inclined brace F adapted to effect a connection between two of the horizontal rods, the bottom rod B having at its ends tenons for engaging with holes in cross base-pieces fitted with stakes for fixing the frame to the ground. The base-pieces may form parts of short standards having head-pieces adapted to be engaged on pins on the ends of an intermediate rod C. A pair of lattices may be arranged in this way parallel with one another, or they may have base-pieces only and be arranged with their respective horizontal rods parallel with one another and their vertical bars crossing and riveted together at intermediate points.
