345,703. Dynamos. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, MORTON, C. J., 86, Wainbody Avenue, Green Lane, and POLLARD, J. H., 98, Mayfield Road, Earlsdon, both in Coventry. Jan. 8, 1930, No. 728. [Class 35.] Magneto-electric machines; machines with two armatures.-In a combined lighting generator and ignition magnetos, secured together by a metal band 3, the generator has a cylindrical casing 1 and the magneto is of the type having magnets arranged at the sides of the housing with pole-pieces 11, 12 at the top and bottom, the upper surface of the magneto housing 4 being shaped to provide a seating for the generator casing. A shallow groove is formed in the generator casing to receive the strap 3. The gear case cover 9 is secured to the magneto housing and engages the end plate of the generator, packing 6 being provided to make a watertight joint. The generator is of the eccentric type and the meshing of the gear wheels can be adjusted by slackening the strap and rotating the generator casing.
