Abstract
344,852. Seat &c. adjustments. HARVEY & CO., Ltd., M. and CUBLEY, H., Glebeland Works, Walsall, and BERGER, S., 141, Curtain Road, London. Dec. 10, 1929, No. 37817. [Class 52 (ii).] In a drop-end or like adjustment-fitting for furniture, of the kind comprising a pivoted strut on one part passing through a loop-like bracket fixed to the other part, the bracket carrying a pivoted releasable fastening to engage the strut, the pivoted fastening member engages the outer side of the strut and the axis of its pivot is parallel with the axis of the pivot of the strut. Such a device is shown in the Figure, comprising a curved T-sectioned strut 8, passing through a slot in the bracket 15 and having teeth 21 on its outer side, engagable by a spring-pressed pawl 19, the axes of the pivots 18 and 9 being parallel. The pawl may have an operating handle 20, and the bracket may carry a stop 26. The pawl may be replaced by a pivoted cam or eccentric. According to the Provisional Specification, the releasable fastening member may be " a pivoted or otherwise movable spring-pressed pawl or a cam, eccentric or wedge," and may engage " with the edge or other part of the strut."
