Abstract
341,719. Globes. SOLDANO, F.., 14, Via Cesare, Melloni, Milan, Italy. Jan. 21, 1930, No. 2118. [Class 146 (ii).] Relates to terrestrial or celestial globes of the kind in which an inflatable bladder e can be inserted into an outer collapsable sphere a bearing geographical or other details, and consists in gripping the rim of the opening, through which the bladder is inserted into the sphere, between a curved disc b disposed inside the sphere and the flange of a collar c screwing into the disc. The bladder neck is formed with a ring adapted to be received in a groove h in a member i on which the ring c is adapted to be held against unintentional displacement by spring-pressed balls l and apertures n. The member i is hollow and contains a non-return valve r guided by a stem s in a reduced part of the bore. A plug u screws into the lower end of the bore to form an additional seal, and is provided with an aperture whereby it may be mounted on a support preferably consisting of a rod y having a part y<1> bent to the correct angle and screwing into a support w through a tube x.
