341,125. Golf-practising appliances. GOWAN, C. H., 373, Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak, Edgware, Middlesex. Oct. 17, 1929, No. 31627. [Class 132 (ii).] In a golf-practising device of the kind employing a captive ball, the ball j is attached to an inelastic cord h by a staple that loosely embraces the cord so as to be slidable there along, one end of the cord h being attached to a transverse elastic member stretched between fixed supports a, b, and the other end to a screw-eye l. The transverse elastic member is composed of alternate lengths of leather c, d, e and rubber or wire springs f, g. In use, the apparatus is arranged as shown with the screw-eye l pressed into the ground. The ball, on being struck, draws the screw-eye from the ground and slides towards the end of the cord. Slice and pull are indicated by twisting of the cord.
