Abstract

339,672. Migley, A. R. Sept. 7, 1929. Regulation, automatic.-A battery charging system comprises a constant voltage regulator set in vibration by an electromagnet having a flux control member pivoted adjacent to the magnet and operated at a prearranged excitation voltage. In the preferred form two armatures e, l are pivoted about a distance-piece m, forming the yoke for an electromagnet f, and controlled by a common spring o, which may have an adjusting nut p. The armature e engages a contact h to shortcircuit a resistance k in the dynamo field circuit until a. given voltage is reached, whereupon the magnet f attracts the armature l, which increases the magnetic flux and sets the armature e into vibration. Specification 325,191 is referred to.
