Abstract
339,425. Beaver, C. J., and Glover & Co., Ltd., W. T. Oct. 23, 1929. Metal pipes.-A lead pipe is formed, upon its outer surface, with interlaced wires 2, 3 of hard drawn copper, bronze or steel, laid in opposed open spirals of long lay, the braid so formed being anchored to the tube by spot-welding or soldering 4 at uniformly spaced crossings of the wires. The reinforcement is preferably anchored before the reinforced pipe is bent, an anchoring attachment on the machine which applies the reinforcement spot-welding or soldering the crossings before the pipe is coiled on a drum.
