Abstract
338,786. Addressograph Co. May 10, 1929, [Convention date]. Type-bars; holders for type-bars. - Typebars adapted to be assembled in a holder to provide a forme for printing lists of telephone subscribers or other matter subject to frequent alteration, are made from blanks comprising a central panel 6, Fig. 2, adapted to have type characters 9 embossed thereon, two side panels 7 by which the blank is held during the embossing operation, and which are afterwards bent downwardly at right-angles to the panel 6, and end projections 10 which are bent downwardly to close the ends of the channelshaped bar and to form lips 13, Fig. 3, to engage beneath overhanging flanges 15 on the sides of a holder 14. The ends 11 of the lips are inclined to permit ready insertion and removal of the bars in the manner shown in Fig. 3. A stop flange 16 is provided at one end of the holder 14 and a spring follower 17 holds the series of bars closely together.
