Abstract

338,138. Dehle, O. T., and Multi- Hydro Washing Machine Co. Aug. 12, 1929. Washing-machines with pumps for circulating liquids.-The clothes are caused to circulate in a tank 15 of a washing-machine by three streams of circulating water, a vertical stream from pipes 22 in the bottom 20 of the tank, horizontal streams from nozzles 32 in the side 18 and a downward stream from a nozzle 41 in the other side 19. The nozzles &c. are supplied with liquid by pipes 22, 31 and 42 connected to a manifold 23 which is connected to a centrifugal pump 24. The water from the tank 15 escapes through an opening provided with a removable perforated plate 34 into a housing 35 and a pipe 36 back to the pump 24. The sides 18, 19 and bottom of the tank 15 are corrugated. The tank is provided with a hinged lid 50 and is supported in a casing 12 which contains the pump 24 &c. A flexible shaft driven from the pump shaft provides means for driving a wringer (not shown).
