Abstract

336,889. Reiber, P. Jan. 14, 1930. Anti-dazzle screens. -In an anti-dazzle screen for the use of vehicle drivers of the kind comprising a number of pivoted semi-transparent strips a adapted to be spread out fan-wise to an operative position or to be folded within a casing c in the inoperative position, the former movement is effected by energization of an electromagnet e, while a spring m or other mechanical means restores the strips to the casing when the electromagnet circuit is broken. As shown, the armature f of the electromagnet is connected by a link g to a lever h carried by the shaft i, to which the end strip a<1> of the fan is secured, the strips being successively operated by means of cooperating pins and slots k. Preferably, the circuit controlling the electromagnet is so associated with the circuit for the headlights that dimming of the headlights and spreading of the fan strips to their operative position occur simultaneously. Specification 239,285 is referred to.
