335,180. British Celanese, Ltd., Dickie, W. A., and Moncrieff, R. W. June 17, 1929. Yarns &c., treating with liquids.-Fabrics are composed of both shrunk and unshrunk yarns of cellulose acetate or other organic derivatives of cellulose, so that on treating the fabrics with a shrinking agent, crape, semi-crape, pebble, and other ornamental effects are produced, while the fabric is capable of being dyed to a level shade. The shrinking agent, such as nitric acid, may be applied over the whole surface or locally by brushing, or spraying through a stencil. The unshrunk threads may alternate regularly in the warp or weft, or both, with the shrunk threads. or in cheeks, stripes, or complicated jacquard designs. Effect threads not of organic derivatives of cellulose may also be employed. The yarns and the fabrics are shrunk with nitric acid of 20‹-45‹ Tw.
