Abstract

Scaffolding.-Putlogs and ledgers in scaffolding are held to uprights by means of a finger or fingers 2 on a bracket member 1 provided with a step to support the putlog, and the lower end 5 of which bears on the upright while a portion 9 is supported by hooks or eyes formed on a member 7 which surrounds the upright. To increase the grip, the fingers and the member 7 are toothed at 3 and 8, respectively, while to allow of the reception of different thicknesses of upright and ledger, multiple hooks are formed on the encircling member and multiple bands 9<a> are provided in the arms of the bracket member. A cam or wedge may be used between the end of the bracket member and the upright. The encircling member may be in the form of a chain with eyes at the ends and the bracket member may comprise only a single arm.
