Abstract

334,705. Noble, J. H. Aug. 31, 1929. Hydraulic mains.-Means are provided to equalize the pressure or vacuum in all the retorts in a set during the carbonizing period, which comprises a division-plate 7 in the hydraulic main 1, dip-pipes 2 terminating above the level of the liquid 8 in a common gas chamber 6, and passing the gas below the plate of the outlet 3. The chamber 6 thus constitutes a gas-pressure equalizer for the retorts.
