Abstract
334,125. Orrinsmith, E. H. Nov. 8, 1929. Table games.-In a combined game and display apparatus in which a poster, picture, or other display is built up step-by-step by the illumination of its sections during the playing of a game, the display is in the form of complete units and is hidden from view, when unilluminated, by a separate screen. The illuminating lamps 3 may be contained in tapering reflecting cells 2, the front openings of which form a grid with rectangular, hexagonal, &c. apertures. The grid surface may be part spherical and the display sheet is stretched over it preferably to conform to its shape. Over the display sheet and in contact therewith is permanently stretched, as by springs 8, a screen 7, preferably of white material, and transparent only to strong light. The display sheet may be mounted on rollers 6, 6<a>. The game apparatus may comprise a number of hanging targets which, when struck by balls rolled along a platform 17, are displaced to allow weighted levers 11 to fall and operate switches 4, each of which controls certain of the lamps 3. All the levers 11 that have fallen can subsequently be raised, and their switches replaced, by a rod 16 lifted by pulling a handle 14. This action also admits and cuts off a required numbers of balls which have returned down a channel 20. Fig. VII shows a modification in which the balls 18 enter holes 9<b> in the board 17 and depress platforms 9<c> to make electrical contact between points 9<d> and 19<a>. The handle 14 through a rod 15<a> opens traps 21 to release the balls.
