Abstract
332,675. Morton, J. May 17, 1929. Dobbies. - In dobby mechanism of the type wherein, under lag chain control, levers 2 carry toothed vibrators 1 into gear with one or the other of two gear segments 9, 10, the vibrator levers 2 are controlled by two complemental sets of lag chains, and are positively constrained between the pulleys and bushes of one chain and the bushes and pulleys of the other. The vibrator levers 2, pivoted between stationary brackets, are each provided with shoes 18A, 18<B>, on which the lag chains 4<A>, 4<B> operate when a vibrator 1 is rotated by a gear segment 9 or 10, a corresponding connector link 3, operate the jack lever 7. A rocker arm 23, fixed to a rock shaft 24 operated through levers 26, 28, 27, 27<1> from a cam 25 on the shaft. 10<1> of the lower segment, acts on the connector links 3 &c. at every rotation of the vibrator 1 and assist them over the dead centre. Each vibrator lever 2 is provided with teeth 31. Adapted to be engaged at timed intervals by a counterpart set of teeth on a horizontal bar 33 carried by an arm 34 mounted on a shaft 35 which is rocked by cam means from the shaft 10<1>, this locking engagement serving to remove the weight of the healds from the lag chains. A row of adjustable studs supports the jack lever when in the outer position. Specification 332,766 is referred to.
