Abstract
331,630. Miller, A. May 6, 1929. Corner joints and strengthening-pieces; joints between box bottoms and bodies.-The parts of a trunk or suit or like case forming the various corners terminate short of the intersections of the planes in which they lie and are connected together by being received between the flanges of angle-pieces formed of one or more pieces of sheet metal and secured in place bv rivets. Fig. 2 shows a simple construction in which the case parts a, c are received between the flanges of an angle piece e formed of a single piece of metal. In Fig. 3 the angle piece consists of three parts e, m, m, and the edges of the case parts are doubled to lie between the flanges. In Fig. 4 the edges of the case parts are doubled to engage the folds of an angle piece consisting of one piece of metal, and Fig. 5 shdws another form of threepart angle piece.
