Abstract

331,610. Hull, P. H., and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd. April 20, 1929. Acetaldehyde.- Acetylene is recovered from gaseous mixtures by washing with a limited amount of an aqueous solution of sulphuric acid and mercuric sulphate in a plurality of stages, the pressure on the gas being increased between each stage. The pressure at any stage should be such that the partial pressure of acetylene does not exceed 2 atm. Specification 280,885, [Class 2 (i), Acetylene.], is referred to. ,
