Contents delivering.-A receptacle for aseptically storing and dispensing surgical napkins or other sheets is provided with a cover which, when it is lifted, removes the top sheet; the removing device comprising adhesive means and an arm, spring urged into contact with the top sheet. The receptacle and its cover are preferably of glass, and to the cover is bolted a spring finger 10 with its free end bent at right angles to form an axle for a roller 13 which is always in contact with the top sheet of the pile 9. This roller has an adhesive surface 14 which may consist of surgical tape so as to be renewable.
