Monogrammic signs. - In monogrammic signs wherein letters and other characters are formed by the selective illumination or actuation of the units of a group of lamps or shutters, keys or templates d, comprising each an embossed letter o, are arranged so as to be rotatable in a circle over groups of electric contacts a, each comprising thirty contact pins f pressed upwards by springs f<1> and adapted, when pressed down by a template, to contact with spring plunger contacts h<1> and to be held in this position by means of a retaining-plate. j forming a common electric connection for the contacts. The pins f have tapered heads m which pass through perforations k in the plate j, which moves laterally to allow the heads to pass and is then restored by springs n to engage the shoulders of the heads m. To re-set the contacts, the retaining-plate j is pulled back by a treadle p and wires q. In a modification using hold-on relays the plates i are dispensed with.
