Mooring.-Arrangements for mooring floating structures such as aeroplane stations and floating docks comprise a mooring block B attached to a length of chain the weight of the mooring block being partly counterbalanced during lowering operations by buoys C. Successive lengths of chain are provided with buoys and are added until the mooring block reaches bottom, when the full weight of the mooring block is rendered effective by shattering the buoys by an explosive charge. If the chain is to be recovered, the mooring block itself is shattered by exploding an enclosed explosive.
