Abstract
328,266. Evans, J. W. Jan. 23, 1929. Window frames; glazing.-Casement or other window sashes are formed by pressing or drawing from a sheet metal plate a webbed and flanged sash a provided with openings for the panes and by attaching thereto separate sash bars g or an assemblage of sash bars. The sash bars may be secured by riveting projections thereon into holes in the web or by folding the flanges thereof over the member d of the sash or by folding the members d of the sash over the edges of the bar as shown in Fig. 4. The member d of the sash is cut away at the corners to facilitate the folding and may be bent to position the flange of the sash bar and of the sash in the same plane, Fig. 8. The sashes may be formed in one plane and strengthened by an attached U-section frame and may be adapted for glazing on the inside, securing pins n inserted in the sashes retaining the glass previous to setting of the putty, &c.. Fig. 18. The sash may be formed with cames s in the form of a leaded light and the sash bars with triangular projections h<3> which are bent through the openings r and under the cames.
