327,903. Vulcan Motor & Engineering Co. (1906), Ltd., and Sutton, J. May 30, 1929. Mudguaurds. -A detachable, side shield is vertically guided into engagement with the main mudguard and is provided with means for drawing it down and clamping it to the mudguard. The side shield 5 is formed with a curved projecting rim 7 adapted to engage a resilient strip 4, which is secured in a groove 3 at the edge of the main mudguard 2 and may be formed of a strip of rubber of circular section. The shield is guided into position by pegs 8 adapted to engage sockets 10, and is then secured by hinged clips 12 adapted to engage lugs 11 and draw the rim 7 downwards on to the packing-strip 4. The shield may be corrugated or panelled at 6 to afford strength and a neat appearance.
