Plate apparatus. -, A heat-exchanger is made up of plates with facial grooves or ribs 1 which with a plain plate form zig-zag channels, the plates s also having interiorly formed passages constituted by short baffles 17 leaving spaces 18 and 18<1> at each end. The plates may be divided through the middle of the baffles and the passages may be provided with spirals or the like to produce turbulence.
