Abstract

326,773. Gray, A. Dec. 18, 1928. Drawing - boards. -Relates to drawing- boards of the kind provided with papercarrying rollers and with a hinged straight-edge at one side, between which and the edge of the board the paper is clamped. The board 7, Fig. 1, has mounted at one side spindles 9 carrying rolls 10, one of which may be of drawing-paper and the other of tracing paper or cloth. The paper, after passing over the board, is wound on rollers 14. The spindles 9 and rollers 14 are supported by brackets 8, 13 which may be detachable. The spindles and the rollers may be rotated by means of a key, and are provided with braking-devices, which may be in the form of a slotted bar 26, Fig. 3, provided with clamping-nuts 29. A flat spring or a ratchet may be used to prevent unwinding of the rolls. The rolls 10 of paper &c. are secured on their spindles by means of pyramidal plugs 11, Fig. 2, secured by screws 12, The hinged straight-edge 15, Fig. 4, may be provided with pins 18 to grip the paper, and is held down by means of a clamping-bolt 19 engaging a slotted lug 22. The rollers may be mounted in a box, in order to exclude dirt. Shallow slots are formed in the rollers 14 to accommodate the heads of drawing-pins. Specification 4198/87 is referred to.
