Abstract
326,525. Clayton Aniline Co., Ltd., and Fritzsche, H. Nov. 12, 1928. Aldehyde-amine condensation products; amine alkyl-w-sulphoic acids. - Aldehyde-amine condensation products which accelerate the vulcanizaof rubber are produced by reacting more than one molecule of aldehyde with the condensation product of a primary or secondary amine and an aldehyde bisulphite compound, or by causing the aldehyde to react with a mixture of the amine and the bisulphite. The amines may be aliphatic or aromatic and may be mono- or poly-amines; aromatic amines mav have substituents in the nucleus. Aldehyde bisulphite remains in the mother-liquor and may be used again. In the examples (1) formaldehyde is reacted with sodium aniline methane-#-sulphonate; (2) acetaldehyde is reacted with sodium aniline ethane-w-sulphonate, (3) crotonaldehyde is reacted with sodium aniline ethane-#-sulphonate. A rubber mix is given containing 100 parts crepe rubber, 5 parts zinc oxide, 4 parts sulphur, 1 part of the product of Example 2, and 36 parts chalk. Specification 251,005 is referred to.
